Applications for Short-Film Competition Accepted Now:
3rd Okinawa International Movie Festival “Worldwide Laugh” – Make People Laugh without Translation

We would like to express our sincere appreciation for your continued support.
With the 3rd Okinawa International Movie Festival set to be held on March 18, 2011, we are inviting submission of video footage for a short-film competition, dubbed “Worldwide Laugh,” which is a new genre of “Comedy Movie Content” that Yoshimoto Kogyo sends out to the world.
We are accepting video clips which suite the theme “Express without using words the joy of the moment when you score a goal.” Applications can be made via the NICO NICO DOUGA or Geinin2 websites.
We would be delighted if you could publish the details of the event below through your media.

“World Wide Laugh” Application Guideline
Theme for submissions
~Express without using words the joy of the moment when you score a goal~

★Application Period    January 28th , 2011~ March 4th, 2011
★Content of Entries
1.A video that can make people of any nationality laugh without a translation.
2.Subtitles may be used, but the film should not rely on them.
3.The running time of the video is no more than three minutes.
4.Please specify a English title in either the alphabet or numbers.
★Submission methods
Application can be made via the NICO NICO DOUGA or Geinin2 websites.

★A prize of one million yen will be awarded for the production that wins the Grand Prix, along with recognition as a Yoshimoto Kogyo ‘geinin2′.

<About “Geinin 2″>
The objective of the project is to scout entertainers in the digital age. After recognizing them as Geinin2, Yoshimoto Kogyo will offer them jobs in digital areas. Applicants can make entries by answering a question posted on the website (http://geinin2.jp/).

<About “Nico Nico Douga”>
This is one of the biggest video-sharing websites in Japan where users can overlay comments. Unlike other video-sharing sites, comments are overlaid directly on the video and synced to a specific playback time in order to create a sense of shared watching experience.
